Yik Yak Threat - possibly related - 10:30pm or so November 17, 2014
Because this one comes without date and time I can only tell you my daughter received it (as we did all others) from her friends who share it with each other as the kids monitor Yik Yak for threats. It refers to the cross town high school Redondo Union High School.

Dr. Dale alerts the community that upon further discussion with Dr. Matthews, superintendent, they will close the school on Wednesday, November 18, 2014.
This is very likely because communication between parents and students alike, together with the social media sharing of the threats is causing parents to have to hold their kids out of school for reasons of caution.

More communication from school district - November 17, 2014 - 8:19pm
Dr. Dale sends an email telling families that school will be open in the morning, despite the second threat. The second threat is vague and that the police have classified the threat now as a criminal matter and are proceeding in that direction. Dr. Dale lets parents know that though he is confident that the campus will be safe but will understand if parents make their own decisions.
Communication from School District re: Yik Yak Terrorist Threat - November 17, 2014
On November 17, 2014 there were 3 emails from the school district, DURING THE DAYTIME, which I would post here but they are for school district recipients only.
The first was at 12:23pm from the principal, Dr. Dale, explaining the situation and letting parents know that they were working on it. At this point the school had a "lock in place" going. It was to be explained in a later email.
The next was front the superintendent, Mike Matthews at 2:18pm reiterating that the administration was working with police and that they were essentially on top of things.
Dr. Dale sent another explanatory email at 3:40pm. It was comprehensive in giving information about what had happened and how they made decisions throughout the incident.
